Why I Offer Online Mediation and Legal Services

Online+Services

In an era of technological innovation in the workplace, the legal industry has been incredibly slow to adapt. Some law firms still rely on hard, paper copies and case files. The majority of the Courts I file case documents with still do not have the option to file these documents online. While more and more firms are beginning to store their files electronically, and utilize software programs and platforms that enable attorneys and their clients to have remote access, there is still much room for innovation.

At The Law & Mediation Office of Jenna Williams, I am dedicated to doing my part to provide my clients with legal and mediation services assisted by the latest technology. I recognize my clients’ need for flexible and professional services available online. Technology can enable quicker access to these services, and can be utilized in ways that minimize unnecessary fees and costs.

Specifically, my practice integrates the following technology: online video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom; online document sharing platforms, such as Google Docs and Dropbox; online e-signature platforms; online credit card payment processing; etc. I am constantly evaluating new platforms and processes available online that can help me provide the best legal and mediation services to my clients.

What this means in practice is that I am capable of handling your entire matter online, if need be.

You can retain me as your mediator or consulting attorney, and we can “meet” in a virtual conference room to discuss your legal needs, engage in mediation sessions, etc. I can prepare and/or review your legal documents and filings remotely, and we can go over them together, line-by-line, entirely online.

When are my online services best utilized? While I believe that nothing beats in-person, face-to-face meetings and mediation sessions, sometimes these are not practical or even possible. For example, as I write this post, the threat of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has greatly restricted social gatherings and public outings. Online services have become necessary. Public health issues aside, what if parties have relocated geographically and are unable to conveniently attend in-person meetings? Online legal and mediation services fill the gap when it is not feasible to attend meetings or sessions in person.

I believe my online services will allow me to better serve my clients, and I am excited to be able to offer them. If you would like to learn more about the services I offer, and how I work online, I provide a free consultation and would be happy to discuss your needs and whether my online services would be a good fit for you.
